Let us discuss a simple but frequently asked question "why all music channels are FM channels". The answer is simple. In an AM wave the signal is in variation of amplitude of carrier wave. Practically all the natural and man made noise consists of electrical amplitude disturbances. As a radio receiver can not distinguish between amplitude variations that represents noise and those that contains the desired signal, therefore, reception is generally noisy. Hence FM mode is used to relay music channels which is not affected by amplitude modulated disturbances.⚡
