SUNDOG
As you can see in the pics ,sundogs are bright spots of light in the sky on either side of the sun.Sundogs may appear as a colored patch of light to the left or right of the sun. They can be seen anywhere in the world during any season, but they are not always obvious or bright. Sundogs are best seen and are most conspicuous when the sun is low.Sundogs are visible when the sun is near the horizon and on the same horizontal plane as the observer and the ice crystals. As sunlight passes through the ice crystals, it is bent by 22 degrees before reaching our eyes, much like what happens with 22 degree halos. This bending of light results in the formation of a sundog.

  1. A question related to light, sir. Suppose we are in a dark room, we have a box with a point size hole, and we flash a torch on to that hole. The light goes inside the box, gets reflected by the inner side of the box, and leaves the box by the same hole. But, if we put our finger on the hole before the light leaves from the box, what will happen to the light inside the box? I know its a highly exaggerated concept and quite impossible, but if somehow we manage to do it, and then take the box into some other dark room and remove our finger from the hole, will the light emerge from there??????? Please answer here only. Thank you.

  2. light is a form of energy, during the process, some part of light will be absorbed by the inner walls of the box (during multiple reflections)and remaining will come out when you remove your finger.
